The Stock Exchange of Thailand main index fell 0.47% or 7.23 points, to 1,542.01 at midday on Friday. Total trading value was 19.6 billion baht, with 4.9 billion shares changed hands. SET50 index dropped 0.46%, or 4.45 points, to 973.05 in trade worth 7.9 billion baht. MAI retreated 0.31%, or 1.85 points, to 594.17 in transactions worth 465.91 million baht. Shares of Group Lease Plc (GL) took a hit after regulators told it to clarify on its 3.5-billion-baht lending to two groups of borrowers in Cyprus and Singapore who used its shares as part of the collateral as pointed out by its auditor.
